When it comes to the ever-popular Hand N’ Foot game, you may think that the hand and foot are created equal. However, a thought such as the previous one will only lead you astray, as the foot is always harder to come by than the hand.

In order to reach the foot, you must first play the hand. Once you have successfully played the hand, there are three ways to gain entrance into the foot. You may choose to play all the cards from the hand and then discard (at which point you can pick up the foot); you can play all of your cared except one, and then pick up the foot; or you can play all the hand cards onto the board without any opportunity for discard. Of course, the foot also requires another’s permission. Before you reach the foot (even after you have gone through the aforementioned steps), you must ask your partner whether or not you are allowed to “go out.” The response that your partner gives to you will then determine your next course of action. At this point, you must review the rules for “going out.”
