How to Play Rounds 1 - 4

Hand 'N Foot game is different than many other card games, but in essence, it is very similar. Here we will go over how the game play goes for each round of play. There is a lot of repetition in the game play and the variance lies in the amount of points melded in order to proceed to the next round.

To "meld" is to place three (or more) cards of the same rank face up on the table. If playing in teams, this is done by one member of the team and then both members of that team will build on that meld. After that initial meld, one or more cards in either direction can be placed in order to build. This is much like Rummy, building on suits/ranks.

Let's begin with the game play for round 1. This is the way the game will be played in each subsequent round, after melding the correct number of points, that is. A team must meld at least 50 points to get on the score board (refer to card values). Play then continues to build groups of 7 cards for each. Your goal is to gain as many points as possible, laying down only one card (Lady or Villain, hopefully) after drawing 2. The first round ends when one player asks for permission to Go Out. Permission can only be granted after there have been at least 2 dirty groups played and 1 clean group. If permission has been granted by your partner, then you may Go Out and points will be tallied. If permission is not granted, then you must play until it is.

Subsequent rounds are played in the same way, with the exception of points totaled. In round 2, the team must meld 90+ points, round 3 must total 120 and round 4 130, respectively.
