Have you picked up the Hand n Foot game yet? If you are having a tough time remembering each play, perhaps this small revision regarding groups will help. Hand n Foot is an easy game to play, but like most games this one requires a bit of skill and concentration. Groups can be a great way to play the game, but you must know how they work in order to use them.
To start, seven or more cards qualify as a “group.” In order to begin a group, the group must start with an Initial Meld of three cards (or more) and the addition of other cards at a later time (note – sequences and runs can not be added to the group). In order to form a “clean group,” you must place seven “natural cards” into the group, and these seven cards must total 500 points. You should also note that a wild card can detract from a clean group by making it a “dirty group” that is only worth 300 points. You can add extra cards to a group, but these cards will not increase the overall value of the group. Also, a lady may cap a clean group, and this move can add an extra 100 points.
Once you start to play the game a few times, things such as groups and points will really become quite easy to remember. Still, if you become confused, you can easily reference this article in order to find out where your group stands. Hand n Foot will soon be the one game that you cannot live without, but you must learn about all the rules first.
