Helpful Tips

There are so many opportunities to score points in a game of Hand 'n Foot that there is always the temptation to get just a little bit greedy and try to run up the score.  What makes this card game so interesting is that the point allotments make it a challenging game of strategy.  The card that wins points in one situation will be the same card that will lose you points if you don't get the opportunity to play it right.  So you have to be careful.

Creating a wild card group earns you the most points in one shot, hands down.  And it can be extremely tempting to put together a collection of seven wild cards to get that big 2000 point pay out.  But here's where it gets a little bit tricky: you have to have at least two dirty groups before you are even eligible to go out.  This means that at least two wild cards have to make their way to other groups.  This makes it much harder to get that wild card group.

Be careful about collecting those lady cards too.  It's true that under the right circumstances the lady card can beef up your score considerably.  A lady card capping a clean group earns you an extra 100 points.  Lady cards can also be used to freeze the discard deck and prevent others from picking it up.  But if you are left with unplayed lady cards in your hand at the end of the round it will cost you dearly.  A total of 500 points comes off your score for every lady card that you haven't played.  When formulating your strategy, keep these little details in mind.
