Hand 'n Foot is a card game that can be played with 2-6 players and it is a lot of fun. Much in the same vein as Canasta, Hand 'n Foot was discovered by a couple, the Millers, when Mr. Miller was relocated to Indonesia for his work. Mr. Miller worked in the oil industry for many years and had been placed in positions all around the world. The family got a first hand look at many different cultures and because it was during the 1970's, entertainment was limited, especially in these "backward" countries.
While living in Balikpapin, Indonesia, they were introduced to a popular card game called "Hand and Foot", which was one of the more popular card games in the area. It took much research and questioning to fine tune the rules of the game, but Joyce Miller was up for the challenge. After doing a lot of research and card playing to prove her research was worthwhile, the Hand 'n Foot game as we know it came into being.
The couple now lives in DeCordova Bend, TX and sell the cards through their business. The game is not simple, but once you learn how to play, you will not want to play any other card game. The objective of this game is to play 22 cards, 11 in your "hand" and 11 in your "foot". You should play the hand first and foot last. You should be focused on making three groups (or more) of 7 cards each before you go all out. The players or "partners" with the most points after 4 rounds wins the game.
This game is suitable for players aged 10+ and can be played on rainy days, snowed in days or days when the sun is shining and you know you should be outside.
