People play card games for different reasons. Some people do it to pass the time; some do it to challenge their mind; some do it to have fun with friends; and some people gamble. But no matter what kind of game you're playing, the idea is to win. So when you're playing Hand 'n Foot, it's a good idea to have some strategies to help you foil your opponents. Here are a few tips to give you an edge:
* Play with a good partner: Having a good partner who's good at playing Hand 'n Foot is going to put the game in your favor. A good partnership is surefire way to increase your odds of outwitting your opponents. On the other hand, this strategy could eventually work against you. If you and your partner are always successful, your opponents might not let the two of you play together any more.
* Pick up exactly 22 cards from the deck: When cards are being dealt out, you'll get an extra 100 points if you do this. While this alone isn't going to help you win the game, it gives you a bit of a lead. Do this consistently and you might demoralize your opponents.
* Freeze the deck: If you put a wildcard sideways on the discard stack, you freeze it and prevent anyone from picking it up. Great way to foil any opportunities your opponents may grab for, unless of course one of them has a natural pair that matches the top discard. Just remember, you can't pick up the discard pile either!
* Go out before your opponents: More to the point, go out when it's in your favor AND your opponent picks up a discard pile full of Ladies and Villains.
