Everybody Plays A Role

The object of Hand 'n Foot is to create at least three groups or more of at least seven cards each.  You have twenty-two cards to accomplish this, with your cards divided evenly into two stacks, one the Hand and the other the Foot.  this all sounds simple enough, but there are just enough twists on this game that it will keep it fresh for you for many, many rounds.

To begin with, when it comes to playing Hand 'n Foot, there are more face cards than in your standard deck of cards. There are two wild cards, both the Joker and the Jester are used in this game.  However, they aren't necessarily interchangeable.  For example, the Joker is worth twice the number of points that the Jester is worth.  Meanwhile the Lord card, unlike the other face cards, is unique in that while he is worth the most points out of the entire deck he is also the least powerful.  While other face cards, including the wild cards can be used to freeze the discard deck, the Lord simply functions as the other numbered cards do and is useful only for creating melds and groups.

The two types of cards that are the most interesting are the Villain and the Lady.  The Lady card can be very valuable, when she is added to a clean group she earns 100 extra bonus points for your team.  She is also useful for freezing the discard deck.  However, beware of keeping the Lady card in your hand for too long.  If you are caught with her in your hand at the end of the round it'll take 500 points off of your score.  The Villain on the other hand, is worth absolutely nothing and is the only card out of the whole deck that you can't add to a group or a meld.  His only use?  Freezing the discard stack.
